On 3/27/2021 I captured this photograph of photographer Jeff Nixon (1952-2022) in King City, Ca. It was just a quick snap with my old Samsung phone. Jeff shared an apartment with another man who had also recently come out of rehab. Jeff was there for just a few months while waiting for his apartment to be ready in Salinas where he move a couple weeks later.
As I was leaving, I looked back to his second floor apartment to say goodbye. I saw Jeff in the archway and asked him to stay right where he was. He looked the best he had looked in years and I'm glad I snapped the photo.
I asked Ryuijie to make a negative from the camera's file and then make this platinum 6.5"x4" photograph in the darkroom.
